Closing Ceremony
The German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa has successfully concluded its project, "Economic Inclusion of Returnees and Potential Migrants in Ghana and The Gambia". The project, which began in January 2021, has made a significant impact on the lives of returnees and potential migrants in both countries. To formally close the project, a handover conference was held from June 5th to June 10th, 2023 on the theme "Project sustainability through responsible handing over". The conference focused on ensuring the project's long-term sustainability and fostering collaboration between partner credit unions.
The conference was attended by notable individuals, including His Excellency the German Ambassador to Ghana, representatives from GIZ Ghana, the Board Chairman of the Ghana Co-operative Credit Unions Association (CUA), the General Manager for the National Association Of Cooperative Credit Union Of The Gambia (NACCUG), various credit union partners from Ghana and The Gambia, and beneficiaries.
The participants engaged in deep discussions and exchanged innovative ideas. The handover conference served as a platform to celebrate achievements, reflect on the partnership, lay the foundation for continued collaboration and progress. They reiterated their commitment to creating an inclusive and empowering environment that will extend beyond the conclusion of the project.
The project's conclusion marks a significant milestone in the journey towards economic inclusion and serves as a catalyst for continued efforts in driving economic inclusion and creating sustainable change. The impact of the project has been substantial, bringing positive changes to the lives of returnees and potential migrants.
