The Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe (Savings Banks Finance Group) is the largest financial group in Europe and the market leader in Germany. Its umbrella organisation is the German Savings Banks Association (Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband, DSGV).

The German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK) is the development-policy arm of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. Its task is to disseminate the successful Sparkasse model across regional borders and around the globe.

About Us

German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa, in collaboration with our partners, promotes sustainable development with focus on Capacity Development, Institution Building, MSME Finance and Financial Literacy in the region.

Our goal is to strengthen the local Credit Unions and Microfinance Institutions in Ghana, Liberia, The Gambia and Sierra Leone whilst working to enhance financial independence.

The work of German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK) is in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
