German Unity Day 2024
German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa joined other German companies in the celebration of German Unity Day at the Residence of the German Ambassador, H.E. Daniel Krull, in Accra.
Faces of Football
Football sparks memories of joy, excitement, and a range of powerful emotions. It’s a dynamic sport with the unique ability to bring people together, fostering unity, while contributing to individual growth and collective progress. In this spirit, German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa teamed up with Petra Landers for an exciting workshop for young girls aged 8 to 14 under the Faces of Football social school, combining the thrill of football with financial literacy, empowering them both on and off the field.
educataGhana 2024
educataGhana '24 took place on the 16th and 17th of September 2024 at the UPSA Hall, bringing together educators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry experts to explore the intersections of education, skills development, entrepreneurship, and employment. This year’s event was centered around the theme "Hands-on Learning for Career and Business Success," highlighting the importance of practical, experiential learning in achieving career and business growth.
Compliance Framework
A new compliance framework has been developed, reviewed and validated by the National Association of Cooperative Credit Unions of The Gambia (NACCUG) with support from German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa under the "Sustainable transformation of the financial sector by strengthening the credit union sector and promoting equal representation of women and youth in West Africa (regional project)".
World Savings Day 2023
As part of its effort to mark this year’s World Savings Day, the German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa (DSIK), in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), celebrated the occasion with students of Accra Girls’ Senior High School under the theme: “Savings: the gateway to future financial independence”.
Closing Ceremony
German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa has successfully concluded its project, "Economic Inclusion of Returnees and Potential Migrants in Ghana and The Gambia". The project, which began in January 2021, has made a significant impact on the lives of returnees and potential migrants in both countries.
Zongo Financial Literacy Training
German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK), Zongo and Inner-Cities Development Secretariat organized its second business games training for Zongo market women from the the Mfantseman Constituency for their economic empowerment and business development.
World Savings Day Ghana 2021
On the 5th of November 2021, German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa-Ghana celebrated the World Savings Day with the students of the Accra Girls Senior High School in Accra to raise awareness on the importance of cultivating a good savings habit.
World Savings Week The Gambia 2021
For the first time, the World Savings Day was celebrated in the Gambia from the 12th to the 16th of November with the young girls of the Aji Sukia Ndateh Memorial school, to equip them with essential financial literacy skills.
World Savings Week 2020
To mark this year’s WSD, German Sparkassenstiftung partnered with the Alliance for African Women Initiative (AFAWI) to train fifty (50) industrious market women from five major markets in the Greater Accra region on the importance of business savings and management.
